A collar makes its point the second it goes on and then stops doing anything. The Constrict Inflatable Collar keeps working all evening, because the fit is adjustable from a soft hand bulb long after the buckle is done up.

A bladder runs inside the vegan leather. Squeeze the bulb and the collar closes, evenly, right the way around rather than pulling at the buckle, with all 2.1 inches of the band pressing flat against the neck. The adjustment runs from 13.4 to 18.5 inches deflated down to 12.5 to 18.2 inflated. That's up to an inch of circumference, under the control of whoever's holding the pump.

The quick release valve lets it all go at once, making the ending as fast as the beginning was slow. A 37 inch leash is included, the strap sets the starting size, and the hardware is nickel-free.

Lie back, kneel, stand still, or go for a walk on the leash. The bulb stays in somebody else's hand either way.

Buckle it on, hand over the bulb, and let them set the pressure.

Expert Tip: Fit it deflated and check you can slide two fingers underneath, then inflate in small squeezes rather than one long pump. Keep the quick release within reach, let it down at any numbness or tingling, and never leave anybody alone while they are wearing it.

Care: Wipe the collar clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not submerge the collar, the hose or the bulb. Deflate fully and open the valve before storing. Air dry completely, then store flat in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight.
